About Me

Hello! My name is Grace Koehler and I'm a costume technician, artist, and historical fashion enthusiast from Chicago.
I am graduating from The Theater School at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois with a BFA in Costume Technology in June of 2025. When I'm not studying, I can be found spending time with my rabbit Percival, drawing at local bars and cafes, and sewing historical costumes. Historical clothing is a vital part of my creative expression, and I wear 1890s clothes, mostly self-made, every day. I intend to pursue a career in bespoke tailoring because I know how much custom-made clothing has improved my self-confidence, and I want to offer the same for other people.
Posting my creations online has helped me connect with others with similar interests and allows me to make professional connections as well. On social media I'm known as Mistress Pennywhistle, a brand I've created for myself to showcase my art and sewing as well as my sense of humor.
